Okay, let me just say this up front…this is one of the ugliest sites I’ve ever seen (and that’s not just the web designer in me coming out). However, I have been to one of Doris Landry’s seminars–Discipline with an Adoption Twist–and SHE IS AWESOME. She is based in Holland, Michigan, but there are also a number of attachment therapists around Western Michigan that belong to the Attachment Coalition (Adoption Parenting Home Page is the name of this site). There are also a number of invaluable articles for downloading on this site. But if I don’t provide you with a link to these internal pages, I’m afraid you may never find them. So, here is a link to the page of resources I’m talking about.

Adoption Parenting Website Interior Page

Some Other Attachment Therapy Websites

Family Attachment Counceling Center–They specialize in Adoption Narrative therapy and sell a book about this too.

Theraplay Website–Good info. There is also a book connected with this therapy that has some great therapeutic play activities to do with your kids.

www.attachment.org

www.Attach.org

Deborah Hage Attachment Specialist–A number of good resources on this site. Some very interesting articles–an especially interesting one about clay sculpture art therapy.

www.deborahhage.com/

A few years ago (before we had adopted) we were able to hear Gregory Keck speak at Calvin College. He was excellent and has written some books too. His website has several great resources about attachment. His site also has links to other attachment coalitions around the nation (although certainly is not all inclusive because I didn’t see our Michigan one). Here is a link to his site. Also, if you ever get a chance to see him speak, I highly recommend it.
