EMK Press Website

This site has some AWESOME resources under “Parent Resources” dealing with attachment and raising adopted children. They have articles you can download (in PDF format) that are so helpful. I remember reading some during our first few months back with Savannah and they really helped me.

Adoptive Parenting Attachment Websites

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

Okay, let me just say this up front…this is one of the ugliest sites I’ve ever seen (and that’s not just the web designer in me coming out). However, I have been to one of Doris Landry’s seminars–Discipline with an Adoption Twist–and SHE IS AWESOME. She is based in Holland, Michigan, but there are also a number of attachment therapists around Western Michigan that belong to the Attachment Coalition (Adoption Parenting Home Page is the name of this site). There are also a number of invaluable articles for downloading on this site. But if I don’t provide you with a link to these internal pages, I’m afraid you may never find them. So, here is a link to the page of resources I’m talking about.

attachment book coverThis book was a good one. It was mostly review for me, but had a good list about how to slowly change habits with your kids.

I Love You Rituals Book Image

I recently ordered this book when I remembered that our attachment therapist had recommended it. I see why. It has wonderful activities that you can do with your child to help promote a deep loving relationship between parent and child.

This book is available at most online bookstores. I found a used copy through Amazon too. ISBN: 0688161170
